Thanks oahuguy! Tips like those are very valuable and I appreciate it! I’m heading to Maui or Molokai this December. If you guys a have any tips/tricks, I’m all ears on those too :D
try throwing a dark color popper with some pink & yellow in it or something shiny like a metalic tinsel skirt with some blue for salt anyway …. also kauai has excellent peacock bass,out of state licences are about 10$ anual ,pretty sure, & can be obtained at ANY sports authority , wall/k marts.good luck ALOHA

I went to the Big Island for a family vacation on only two of us fly fish so we got voted out to going to Oahu. But, it never stopped us from fly fishing:D
We’re planning on going to Kauai next so if you have any info regarding that island, I’m all ears :D
You should have gone to Oahu where I’ve seen the fly fishing work on the flats around honolulu from Ala Moana to Maunalua Bay
now i know you ate those papio with some rice! looks like a butterfish. next time you gotta get a kayak out there. i’m kickin’ myself for not having my fly rod out at the cape… i was in schools of huge stripers and blues and had to resort to my spinning tackle. good vid bro!

It only took about 5 minutes… but it was still a rush… especially when the locals tell me that fly fishing doesn’t work there:D
