There are no monkeys that are just running wild in Hawaii. The only monkeys are at zoo.

The vast majority of the animals in Hawaii have been imported at some point, save a few things like the Monk Seal.

Monkeys are not one of the animals that have been imported. At most on the islands you might occasionally encounter deer or wild pigs, which were once brought for hunting. The mongoose is sometimes seen as well (they were brought in in an attempt to kill off rats that had come on ships).

The only monkeys you’ll see are in the Zoo in Honolulu. If you want monkeys in a rain forest or tropical setting, you generally need to go places like South America or China.

I’ve been to the Big Isle in 2007. Don’t recall seeing any monkeys; only cockroaches.

There ARE no monkeys on hawaii! (save in zoo’s….) You must remeber that Hawaii is a volcanic island chain, seperated miles and miles from any other land masses! No chance of monkeys here. If you think of it from a geological point of view, the answer is very clear as to why none have “evolved” there.

If you want to see some monkeys, go to the Honolulu zoo. Admisions cheep.
